Summer fruits
Antioxidant nutrients are a
skins best friend.
They help to prevent against free radical damage which can prematurely age our skin. Sun exposure is one thing that can cause this damage.
The summer months give us a great variety of antioxidant rich fruits to choose from.
Our favourites? Cherries, plums, blueberries, raspberries, kiwifruit and pomegranates.
Floral water sprays
A spray bottle carried around in your bag can be a lifesaver on a hot sweaty summer day. Extracts of chamomile and lavender are soothing to irritated skin and help to reduce redness.
Make your own
In a 50ml glass spray bottle add dispersant (up to 12 drops) lavender or German chamomile essential oil (up to 12 drops) and 50ml of distilled water.
Note: Essential oil dispersant can be found in health food stores, add 1 drop of dispersant to every 1 drop of essential oil.
Vitamin E & calendula cream
Fantastic for dry skin, a combination of vitamin E and
calendula cream soothes irritated, dry and peeling skin.
And don’t forget to drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated. And slip, slop, slap when going out in the sun.
